The Enterprise Community Healthy Start Initiative maintains a database (an electronic medical record) on all of its clients and their infants up to 2 years of age. This database allows us to keep track of client's high risk factors, the visits we have made to clients, client visits to their doctors, infant visits to the pediatrician, and infant immunizations. By tracking these visits, we are better able to provide services, insure that pregnant clients get adequate prenatal care and other services, and that their babies receive required immunizations and HealthCheck visits.
The database permits us to create required reports for our funding agency. The database also is a supervisory tool for monitoring staff services. The information in this database is not provided to any outside parties, and the database is fully compliant with the Health Information Portability and Accessibility Act (HIPAA).
